This landscape project was designed to adhere to the LEED™ process of design development. The site work required extensive regrading and bank stabilization through bio-engineering. Material selection such as Corten steel, flyash concrete and permeable hardscapes required a low life-cycle cost, product durability, and environmental appropriateness.
The building has received AIA Awards for siting a structure on a narrow ‘un-buildable’ lot, which translates into a difficult and steep landscape program. The landscape design renovated this landscape from an overgrown failing deck into an open and inviting entry garden. The entry garden is now able to act as a flexible, usable area.
